Are you a chemist interested in how molecules are involved in natural interactions? Are you an engineer interested in gaining insights from biology? Are you a biologist interested in following a natural phenomenon from molecules to ecosystems? If so, the NICE lab could be for you. We are seeking passionate individuals dedicated to addressing big questions on chemical interactions. Whatever their backgrounds, NICE lab members are ready to explore both a new field site and a new molecular or physiological technique. Our scientists start in the field, observing organisms and gaining insights with a naturalist’s eye. They then take these observations back into the laboratory to address the mechanistic underpinnings of the natural observations. As a final step, we try to replicate the phenomenon in the lab using behavioral, physiological, and/or virtual reality tools, and assess it back in the natural environment where it was first observed. We are creative, dedicated, and adventurous. We are NICE.

Hello, I am postgraduate in zoology (Specialization in entomology) from University of Calicut(Results of final semester awaiting). It has always been a passion of mine to get into the nature and observe the diverse insect world. Being Botanist by profession and naturalist by heart I always think of how plant interact using their volatiles with their surroundings and I always think that is there any relation between loss of aroma and prevalence of viral diseases.
